Car Hits School Kids Getting Off Bus In Willowick

The driver of the car that hit the children remains at-large, police said.

WILLOWICK, OH — Two school children were hit by a car as they got off a bus in Willowick, police announced. The driver of the car has not yet been found by police.

The collision happened at about 3 p.m. on Monday. The children were getting off the bus on E. 300th, near Barjode. The car went around the bus and hit two kids, police said. The car didn't stop after the crash, but drove off.

The two school children were taken to a local hospital, according to Fox 8. They were released after being seen by doctors.

The car was seen turning onto Forest Grove and driving toward Euclid. Police said the car was small and red and had a 30 day tag. There was also rust around the bottom of the car. The driver was a short, black woman who may have had a bun in her hair and possibly a bandana, police said.

Investigators believe they may have located the red car, Fox 8 reported. The car was towed by police. No one has been taken into custody or charged at this time.
