Lynch Announces Passage of Economic Development Legislation

State Rep. Matt Lynch, R-98, of Bainbridge supported a bill to spur long-term economic development in Ohio.

House Bill 489, which passed by a 91-5 vote and was forwarded to the Ohio Senate for further consideration, completes a transition from the Ohio Department of Development to the Ohio Development Services Agency. The bill clarifies contracts between OSDA and JobsOhio and allows the nonprofit JobsOhio to administer loans and tax credits to expand businesses.

"HB 489 continues the legislature's efforts to revitalize Ohio's economy and grow jobs," Lynch said. "The creation of the Office of Tourism is long overdue and recognizes the $36 billion contribution of tourism to Ohio's economy."
