Mayfield Heights Council Elects DiCicco President

He replaces Michael Ballistrea, who could not run for re-election because of term limits.

, staring his second term on council, was elected president of City Council on Thursday at a special organizational meeting.

"I just want to say thank you and that together we can do well for the city," DiCicco said. He added that a good example was set for him by former Council President Michael Ballistrea.

Councilwoman Diane Snider was elected president pro tem. She also was chosen to serve as council's representative on the Planning Commission. Councilman was selected to serve on the Mayfield Union Cemetery Board.

Prior to the organizational meeting, DiCicco, Monaco and Paul Sciria took their oaths of office for the coming term. DiCicco and Sciria were elected to four-year terms, while Monaco was elected to the remaining two years of the term vacated by the death of David Sasak.
