Longwood Road, like much of Mayfield Heights, is a quiet suburban street. The fire is believed to have started upstairs in the home, at about 1 a.m. Crews have been on the scene fighting the fire since early Tuesday morning, News 5 said.
Mayfield Heights Fire Chief Bruce Elliott said there was heavy fire inside the home when firefighters arrived. A ladder had to be used to access the second floor, he told Fox 8.
