Mayfield Schools Names New Superintendent
Keith Kelly has been assistant superintendent for Sycamore district near Cincinnati.

The Mayfield school board voted unanimously today to offer a three-year contract to Dr. Keith Kelly to serve as the district's superintendent.
Kelly comes to the district from Sycamore Community School District near Cincinnati, where he has been assistant superintendent since 2005. He has worked in education for 32 years, serving as a special education teacher, associate principal and high school principal before becoming assistant superintendent.
Sycamore, a district with 5,100 students, has been rated Excellent or Excellent with Distinction by the state for the past 11 years.
"As the board searched for a new superintendent, it was imperative for us to find an individual who was a good fit for Mayfield and who would be the right leader to continue our mission – every student, every day," said Sue Groszek, school board president. "We have found that fit in Dr. Kelly."
On Aug. 1, Kelly will replace Dr. Phillip Price, who will retire after 14 years with the .
"My passion for education is the same now as it was 32 years ago when I first entered teaching," Kelly said. "And for me, that passion is driven by the awesome responsibility we have to create learning environments in which all of our children can experience achievement, personal growth and a sense of belonging."
The superintendent search started in November with . More than 60 people applied for the position and five finalists were interviewed by the school board.
