Mayfield Village Puts CodeRed Emergency Notification into Use

The system, activated by in February, had its first test.

Fire Chief David Mohr said notice went out to gather members of the Tri-Community Community Emergency Response Team to assist residents affected by the in Lyndhurst.

"We contacted the CERT team to assist Lyndhurst the day after to help people who lived in that burned-out building," Mohr said. "The challenge was to get a lot of people quickly and it worked."

That same day, the village had scheduled a registration session for the CodeRed service, which is available to residents and businesses by messages to land-line and cell phones, text messages and emails.
