annual Tree Lighting Ceremony will start at 7 p.m. today at the Gazebo, at the corner of SOM Center and Wilson Mills roads.
Santa Claus is scheduled to make an appearance for a popcorn ball distribution to children and there will be holiday music. Mayor Bruce Rinker will lead the tree lighting.
Coffee, hot chocolate and donuts will be available.
Guests are asked to bring canned goods and nonperishable items for a local hunger center. Items also being collected at the Civic Center and police station.
