Mentor Bank Robbed Tuesday, Suspect In Custody
Police said the Key Bank on Munson Road was robbed on Tuesday afternoon. Hours later, police took a suspect into custody.
MENTOR, OH — The Key Bank on Munson Road in Mentor was robbed on Tuesday afternoon. Police announced they have taken a suspect into custody.
A woman with a gun robbed the bank at a little before 1 p.m., according to Mentor Police Chief Kevin Knight. No one was hurt during the robery.
The suspect then got into a car headed west on SR 2. Police located the car and chased it for a short while before the pursuit was called off for safety reasons.

The car was located again in Wickliffe, where police used stop sticks to try and halt the vehicle. However, the car headed onto I-90 east, where it eventually came to a stop near SR 91, Mentor police said.
The suspect was identified as Shannita Martin, 28, from Cleveland, after the car was stopped, police announced. She was taken into custody without incident. Officers found an undisclosed amount of money and a handgun in her possession, police added.

Police said they will charge Martin with aggravated robbery. Investigation into the incident continues.
