'Moms Talk' Q & A: Child Health Activity Monitors – An Invasion of Privacy?
Long Island school district trying to help students start healthy habits.

Each week the council will answer a question on parenthood posed to them by readers or another member of council.
This week, the Moms Council addresses a program of the Bay Shore, Long Island school district to have children monitor heart rate, exercise and eating habits.
Kim Zannetti: I think that anything that helps children lead a healthy and well balanced life is time well spent. I guess I would also like to see parents taking a more active role in their children's lives.
Maybe it is just because of my occupation, but we are throwing so many responsibilities on our schools, that the time spent on academics is waning away. I believe parents should be the primary persons teaching their kids not to bully, how to eat in a healthy way, etc., etc., etc. ... just my thoughts ...
