Ohio Father Killed In I-90 Car Crash, Son Badly Injured
The Ohio State Highway Patrol said the father and son were trying to load a trailer onto their truck when a car drifted onto the berm.
A 50-year-old father was killed in a three-car accident on I-90 on Sunday morning. The man's son, a 26-year-old from Cleveland, suffered severe injuries in the crash, the Ohio State Highway Patrol said.
The father and son were trying to load a vehicle onto the trailer of a Dodge Ram pickup truck. While outside their vehicle, working with the Ram, a Kia Sportage drifted onto the berm and hit the two men, the Patrol said.
The Sportage then hit the trailer before rotating out into the middle of I-90. An oncoming car then hit the Kia, but did not stop after the crash.

While investigating the crash, a Bratenahl police cruiser was hit from behind by an eastbound car. The cruiser was pushed into another vehicle, which hit a fourth vehicle. The officer in the cruiser that was initially hit was taken to the hospital, treated and released.
The driver of the at-fault vehicle was taken to the hospital. No one else was injured in the crash.
All of the car accidents on Sunday morning remain under investigation, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol. However, investigators said alcohol and/or drugs are suspected in both the fatal crash and the collision with the Patrol cruiser.
