Police Blotter: Cars Made Splinters Out of Boards on Highway

Wickliffe police called at 9:46 p.m. April 3 about wood or branches in the middle lane of Interstate 271 northbound between Wilson Mills and Highland roads. Police checked and the debris started before the entrance ramp. An officer cleaned up as much as possible and said what had started out as boards had turned into a lot of splinters.
A car spun out at the Wilson Mills Road exit ramp at 2:56 a.m. April 4 and the driver complained about neck pain. The driver was taken to and the car was towed.
A caller at 3:35 a.m. April 1 said he was attempting to get a little black dog that had been running around loose for a week in the Seneca Road area. Police left a message for the dog's owner, who called back and said it came into a neighbor's yard a few times and then takes off through a fence when approached. She said she would call the animal warden if a trap was needed.
The same dog was seen at 6:49 p.m. March 31 in the area of Heinen's on SOM Center Road. A family saw the dog and went back with food to try and catch her.
The manager of a Beta Drive business called at 4:27 p.m. March 31 because he suspected an employee was stealing. He said the man was taking things out with the trash. He planned on firing the employee and wanted an officer standing by when it was done.
