Police Blotter: Ejected Coach was Waiting for Umpire

A man told police he was called by an umpire who threw out a coach May 22 at the city park. The coach was waiting for the umpire to finish the game, the caller said. The coach left before police arrived.

A 911 hang up call was received at 10:36 p.m. May 23 from on Wilson Mills Road. A dispatcher called back and the cashier said a man was caught shoplifting and was kicked out. He was unsure if the man put the merchandise back.

A West Legend Court woman called at 12:52 a.m. May 24 and said someone just rang her doorbell. She said it was a male police have been trying to catch doing this for a year now. They will continue trying – officers checked and were unable to find the suspect.

A traffic signal was out at 6:45 p.m. May 22 on Wilson Mills Road by the city park. Police were unable to get into the traffic box, so stop signs were placed by the park and Belwood. An officer was requested for traffic control at 7:35 p.m. because a lot of cars were leaving the park. The problem was that there was no power the pole and CEI crews had the lights operating again at 8:04 p.m.

A caller at 3:09 p.m. May 22 said a boy was riding a mini bike up and down the sidewalks on Cranbrook Drive. Police talked to the mother of the 8-year-old about a city ordinance regarding the mini bike. She said he will stop riding it on city property.
