Police Blotter: Homeless Man Living in Parking Lots

An employee at a Wilson Mills Road restaurant called police at 12:33 a.m. Feb. 7 because a man in a green sport utility vehicle had been pulling into the lot and sitting there for several days. The man told police that he is homeless and parks in lots of 24-hour businesses. He said he goes in for an occasional cup of coffee. The employee told police that the man had never been inside, but it would be OK if he did purchase something. The man decided to leave the lot instead.

Debris in the back of a garbage truck was on fire at 6:17 a.m. Feb. 4 at Bishop and Wilson Mills roads. Firefighters went to check on the truck and couldn't find it. Police said the garbage truck dumped its load in the parking lot of Sears on Richmond Road and Richmond Heights was dispatching units to the scene.

A Williamsburg Drive resident wanted to talk to an officer about obscene pictures he received in the mail. He was referred to the postmaster.

Service department employees reported that a red pickup was cutting off city trucks at 5:42 a.m. on Highland Road. Police stopped the driver and issued a warning.

Three cars were involved in an accident at 11:34 a.m. Feb. 2 in the southbound local lanes of Interstate 271. All three cars were towed from the scene and one person was taken to Hillcrest Hospital.

A laptop computer was reported stolen on Feb. 1 at a Wilson Mills Road business. The caller suspected an employee who was fired and had access to the office.
