Police Blotter: Honda was 'Messing' with Truck on I-271

Information supplied by the Mayfield Village Police Department.

The driver of a semi with a 48-foot trailer called police at 8:19 a.m. May 21 because a blue Honda was messing with him on Interstate 271. He said the Honda driver was coming up on him fast and cutting him off, not letting him over, slamming on his brakes and slowing in front of him. He said the man also came up alongside and started yelling at him. police were called, but could not get there in time, so Beachwood police were called.

Police received a report at 2:48 a.m. May 19 that a car was driving across tree lawns on Lander Road near the high school drive. Police checked tree lawns in the area and did not see any damage.

Four 911 calls were made on May 18 by  woman living in an assisted living center on North Commons Boulevard. Police said it appeared that the woman was bothered by the staff checking on her.

A Wilson Mills Road woman called at 11:01 p.m. May 17 because she thought someone behind her had a fire, which she had been smelling for an hour. Police were able to smell a fire, but didn't see it and said it might had been coming from a fireplace.

A woman called police on May 17 after her dog was attacked on Timberline Trail. She said a large, black poodle that is aggressive bit the hindquarters of her dog.

A Bonnieview Road man said he and his wife have been arguing a lot lately and were at it again at 2:45 a.m. May 17. He said she was going to a friend's house and he would make a statement in the morning.

A caller driving a tractor-trailer said he had an incident at 11:35 a.m. May 16 on Interstate 271 northbound near Wilson Mills Road. He said a black Chrysler Sebring was traveling 10 mph under the speed limit in the passing lane. After he passed the car, the car swerved into his lane and went across all of the lanes to exit at Wilson Mills. He said the driver of the Sebring flipped him off and throw a pop can at the truck.
