Police Blotter: Man Asking for Money Had Broken Down Car, Sick Daughter

A employee told police at 9:03 p.m. April 9 that he gave $30 to a man who was upset. The man was asking for money for car repairs and also said his daughter was sick. He was the man weighed about 300 pounds and was nicely dressed. The employee said he would call police back if he wanted to file a report.
Police were called about a dispute at 8:47 p.m. April 10 at Stonewater Golf Club. There was an auto accident, but no visible damage, according to the officer who went to the scene.
A Bishop Road woman called at 12:33 a.m. April 10 and said her son took her laptop computer and cell phone while she was asleep. He came back with the cell phone 20 minutes later, but she still wanted to file a report about the computer.
Mayfield Heights police called at 6:11 a.m. April 7 after seeing six deer in the Interstate 271 express lanes near Wilson Mills Road.
The manager of Denny's called at 7:03 a.m. April 7 about an intoxicated man passed out in the restaurant. Police said someone came to pick up the man. However, he was behind the wheel about an hour later. Police stopped him at 8:02 a.m. on Lander Road and he was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence and driving under suspension.
A Millridge Road woman called at 8:05 p.m. April 5 about a suspicious ticking noise that was coming from her car. She was afraid it might blow up. Police told her to contact an auto repair shop in the morning.
