Police Blotter: Motorists Will Be Waiting At Light Until Construction's Done

A caller at 9:16 a.m. Oct. 28 complained that the traffic light at SOM Center and Seneca roads was holding traffic on Seneca when there was no traffic. Police said loops controlling the light were cut due to construction and the lights would be functioning that way until construction is complete.
Checks were stolen from a Beta Drive office over the weekend, a caller reported at 11:06 a.m. Oct. 31. One of the checks was used in the amount of $575.
A man came into the police station at 10:50 a.m. Oct. 31 to report an accident that occurred on Interstate 271 northbound near Wilson Mills Road. He said his wife was driving and he did not have any information about the other car.
Two mattresses were in the high speed local lanes on Interstate 271 near Wilson Mills Road at 3:45 p.m. Oct. 28 and a man was walking toward them. Police checked and there was no hazard – the man was waiting on the side of the road for his brother to come with straps to secure the load.
A woman walked into the police station at 7:05 p.m. Oct. 27 and said her son was at a job fair and another juvenile threatened to shoot him. Her son wasn't sure where the job fair was, but said it was somewhere in Mayfield. Police checked with Mayfield Heights and were unable to figure out where the job fair was held.
A woman was sleeping in her car at 7:23 a.m. Oct. 26 in the parking lot of the Holiday Inn on Beta Drive. She told police that she delivers newspapers and was taking a nap. Police cited her for expired license plates.
An accident was reported at 7:54 a.m. Oct. 25 on Wilson Mills Road in front of a gas station. There were no injuries in the two-car crash. A woman was cited for failure to give full time and attention to driving.
A man said a brown bag with three library books was stolen from Mayfield Library on Oct 20 or Oct. 21. A report was needed for library purposes.
