Police Blotter: Popcorn Surprise was Left at Wrong House

A Medway Road resident called at 4:53 p.m. Nov. 11 after finding a blue duffel bag and a large garbage bag filled with popcorn outside his front door. Police said the items were put there for a juvenile who was having a sleepover and parents dropped them off at the wrong house.

An Eastlawn Drive resident called at 5:32 p.m. Nov. 16 after two men came to her door selling meat.

A Dewitt Drive resident called at 7:12 p.m. Nov. 15 about a boy who came to her door and tried to sell a newspaper subscription for a college trip. Police warned the boy about soliciting without a permit and said the boy's boss thought he was in Richmond Heights.

Suspicious men in a green Honda kept driving through the True North Shell station on Wilson Mills Road at 10:23 p.m. Nov. 15. Two of the three times they entered the store to cash in lottery tickets and the third time they just looked in the windows.

The road was flooded at 6:17 p.m. Nov. 14 at Rose Boulevard and Wilson Mills Road. High water signs were posted by the service department.

A caller said he was being attacked by a dog at 10:59 a.m. Nov. 12 near Miner Road. He had some injuries from being knocked off his bicycle, but did not want medical attention. He said the dog was a large brown mastiff or boxer. Police found the dog's owner, who had three pit bulls and was told about the city's animal ordinance.

A man given a ticket for a traffic offense at 2:02 p.m. Nov. 11 at Kenbridge and Wilson Mills roads wanted an officer to remain at the scene while he called a state trooper to contest his ticket. He was told to go to court if he wanted to fight the ticket.
