Police Blotter: Shoplifter Drinks Bottle of Wine in Bathroom

A employee said a woman took a bottle of wine off the shelf and went into a restroom at 3:36 p.m. April 10. The woman locked herself in the restroom, drank the wine and then left the store. Police stopped her in the parking lot and told her not to return or she would be arrested for trespassing. Costco did not want prosecution for the theft.

A man called at 11:43 p.m. April 12 to report that a woman broke the windshield of his car on Marsol Road. Police arrested the woman, who was charged with criminal damaging.

A woman said she was being held against her will at 12:59 a.m. April 13 at a Mayfield Road apartment building. The woman didn't know the address and police said she was talking in circles. The dispatcher heard another voice and asked the woman to put the person on the phone – it was a police officer and he said the woman was at Hillcrest Hospital and had been brought there for a mental evaluation.

A security guard called at 10:43 p.m. April 12 to report that a trash can was damaged in a Mayfield Road parking lot. Police said there was no damage, but officers talked to "scrappers" who had been going through the trash.

A 13-year-old Mayberry Avenue girl was online at 5:58 p.m. April 12 and a person she was conversing with said they were going to come over and kill her. Police said a friend was playing a joke on the girl.

Music was blasting from a black SUV for 45 minutes, a caller reported at 6:18 p.m. April 12 on Sunset Road. Police said the owner of the SUV was working on the radio.

A waterproofing company dropped a large load of rocks and blocked traffic at 10:42 a.m. April 11 on Marshfield Road. Police told the workers to bring proper equipment in the future.
