Police Blotter: Son Said He Took Antique Table for Surprise Refurbishing

A Commonwealth Avenue woman suspected her son of taking antiques from the house on April 26. The boy acknowledged taking a table, which he was having refurbished as a surprise for his mother. He said he would have the table back the next day.
A Sunset Road woman called at 5:12 a.m. April 27 and said her water tank was still leaking and she wanted an officer to come back and tighten the valves. The woman had originally called at 2:39 a.m. because she wasn't strong enough to close the valves and a service department worker wouldn't be available until 8 a.m.
A caller complained about a speeding car at 10:01 p.m. April 26 on Mayfield Road. An officer stopped the car and said the driver checked OK. He was on his phone and just left from refereeing a game in Geauga County.
A laptop computer and an iPhone were reported stolen at 10:56 p.m. April 25 from a car parked in a Genesee Avenue driveway. The victim said the theft occurred sometime in the previous half hour.
A Marsol Road woman called on April 25 about unwanted calls from a sister about their mother's care. She has power of attorney and her sister was upset about the matter.
A caller said a semi driver was asleep at the wheel in the local lanes of Interstate 271 near Mayfield Road at 8:08 p.m. April 25. The driver said he had his head rested on his elbow, which was on the window, and was not sleeping.
