Police Blotter: Squirrel Suspected of Leaving Peanut Shells on Deck

An Oakview Drive woman was concerned Dec. 9 after finding peanut shells on her back deck because her son is allergic to peanuts. Police said there was a bird feeder with peanuts in a nearby yard and the shells were probably left there by a squirrel.

A Charles Place resident called at 5:16 p.m. Dec. 12 and said he came home from work and it looked like someone tried to pry open his front door.

An accident was reported at 11:58 a.m. Dec. 11 in the parking lot at Kohl's on Wilson Mills Road.

A suspicious man dressed in hunter's brown was walking about Blakley and Woodside drives was an house, a caller reported at 4:04 p.m. Dec. 11. Police checked and were unable to find the man.

An assault was reported at 2:32 a.m. Dec. 11 at Mulligan's on Highland Road. Screaming was heard in the background on the 911 call before it was disconnected. Police were told that the man who committed the assault ran through backyards into the woods. Police were unable to find the suspect, but were given his name.

A dump truck pulled down utility wires at 11:12 a.m. Dec. 9 on Rose Boulevard.
