Police Blotter: Suspicious Man Asked Boy to Help Find Puppy

A woman said at 3:12 p.m. March 21 that her 9-year-old son was approached on Bishop Road by a man who wanted help looking for his puppy. The man was in an older-style, rusty red pickup. He was described as 40 years old, with black hair and a mustache. Police checked side streets and did not find the truck.
A gold Dodge Ram caught fire at 7:54 p.m. March 20 on Interstate 271 near Wilson Mills Road.
A dog was hit by a car at 7:45 a.m. March 20 at Highland and Bishop roads after it got loose from its leash. The car that hit the dog did not stop. Police said the dog was still alive and it owner was going to take care of the animal.
A suspicious man was walking around and talking to himself and to trees at 8:20 p.m. March 19 on Turnberry Lane. An officer took the man to the police station to wait for a ride.
Police checked on a suspicious car at 12:26 a.m. March 20 in the city park near the pool. The man was sleeping and was warned about trespassing.
A caller at 9:32 p.m. March 17 complained that furniture store signs were showing up all over the city. The man said he was removing the signs from his yard and would call police back if he sees someone placing them.
