Police Blotter: Suspicious Man at Gymnastics Practice

A caller said there was a suspicious older man at his daughter's gymnastics practice at 11:52 a.m. Jan. 26 on Beta Drive. He said the man was in his 50s, was dirty looking, and had not been there before. The man watched the practice and left without a child.

A 911 caller at 10:08 a.m. Jan. 28 said she didn't know where she was, but she was trapped in a cabin and needed help. A dispatcher spoke with a health care company, which sent a nurse to check on the woman.

A power outage was reported at 7:45 p.m. Jan. 28 in the Worton Park area. A game at Mayfield High School was canceled due to the problem. No wires were down, police said. The problem was traced to a transformer at Ridgebury and Geise and power was back on at 9:08 p.m.

Police stopped a car for weaving and speeding at 2:10 a.m. Jan. 30 in the northbound lanes of Interstate 271. A woman passenger was held for a warrant out of Stow and the man driving was placed in a holding cell because of his unruly behavior – he was spitting at officers. He was bound over to county authorities on felony charges.
