Police Blotter: Thick Ads Were Littering Roadway

Police received reports at 6:27 a.m. Dec. 11 that newspaper advertisements were flying all over the roadway on Lander Road. Apparently the ads were so thick that the bags were ripping when the carrier threw the newspapers into yards.
A resident came to the police station at 10:58 p.m. Dec. 11 to ask about a citation he received in another city regarding blue tint on his car's headlights.
Moreland Hills police called at 3:30 a.m. Dec. 11 to report an assault that occurred in the back of a limousine on Interstate 271 in Mayfield Village. The driver said he jumped in the back to pull a man away from the woman he was assaulting. The man and woman were dropped off at their residence in Moreland Hills before police were called. A rescue squad was sent and took the woman to Hillcrest Hospital.
Police said a hysterical caller at 9:29 p.m. Dec. 10 reported that a dog was hit on the freeway near the Wilson Mills Road exit. She stopped and the dog, which was bleeding and crying, jumped in her car. The woman brought the dog to the police station and animal control was called to take it to a medical facility.
