Police Blotter: Woman Wasn't Going to Kill Herself, But Wanted Ex-Boyfriend Gone

A man called police at 1:25 a.m. Jan. 8 to have someone check on the welfare of a Belrose Road woman who threatened to commit suicide. He said that a few hours after talking to her he received a call from an unknown hospital that she was not going to make it. Police checked hospitals with no results and the woman returned home with some friends at 2:11 a.m. Police said the woman was fine and the caller was a former boyfriend she didn't want anything to do with any longer.

A caller at 12:36 a.m. Jan. 7 told police that a Dodge Caravan was all over Mayfield Road. Police stopped the car and arrested the driver, who was charged with driving under the influence. Police also took a .32-caliber revolver that was in the car for safekeeping.

A group of boys were causing trouble at 10:16 p.m. Jan. 6 at Chipotle in Eastgate Plaza. They were asked to leave, but continued to drive past the restaurant and customers were afraid to walk to their cars. Police talked to the occupants of the car, including a Lyndhurst resident who was a former employee who had been fired. He and his companions were told not to return.

A Mayflower Avenue woman called at 9:52 a.m. Jan. 6 because she thought someone was tampering with a chain on her shed. Nothing was taken, but there were footprints from the shed heading toward Mayberry. She was told to get a lock for the shed.

A Marsol Road woman reported a domestic incident at 3:22 a.m. Jan. 5. A man was throwing things around the apartment and hit her in the arm. The man was arrested for a warrant from South Euclid.

An Indiana Avenue man called at 9:15 p.m. Jan. 4 after a man was walking around the property and looking into the caller's front window. The resident found a card from First State Bank, which has his mortgage, but the company did not send anyone out.

A caller said he cut off another car at 1:42 p.m. Jan. 4 at Brainard and Mayfield roads and the other driver threatened him and his passengers with a gun. Lyndhurst police stopped the cars and Mayfield Heights police talked to the parties to file a menacing report.

A woman said she found several identification and Social Security cards at 9:02 p.m. Jan. 3 while shopping at Wal-Mart. Store employees would not take the items, so she brought them to the police station.

A car slid off the road on a Mayfield Road ramp to Interstate 271 at 12:05 p.m. Jan. 3 and police were called to shut down the road for a few minutes while the car was towed.
