Search Crews Find Downed Plane In Geauga County
Authorities spent Wednesday morning looking for a downed plane in the Geauga County waters.
Search crews found a downed airplane and the body of its pilot in Geauga County on Wednesday.
Crew spent much of the day looking for a possible downed plane in the LaDue Resevoir in Geauga County. Boats combed the waters looking signs of the aircraft before teams began searching nearby woods.
A man flying a small plane from Cincinnati was last heard from while flying over Geauga County, according to the Geauga County Sheriff's Office. The pilot was the only person aboard the aircraft.

The Ohio Department of Wildlife assisted in the search. The agency said the plane was a four-seat piper. The aircraft reportedly left Cincinnati at about 10 p.m. and was headed to the Geauga County Airport. The plane never arrived.
The plan was last seen on radar at approximately 4 a.m., according to News 5. Current weather conditions, with fog hanging low in the area, are affecting the search.
