WICKLIFFE, OH — A Wickliffe teenager was killed in a car accident outside a bowling alley on Saturday night, police announced. Investigators said the teenager was hit by a car driven by one of his friends during a prank.

Anthony Noch, 17, was hit by the car outside Wickliffe Lanes. He was rushed to Lake West Hospital and then transferred to University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center but died on Sunday.

Noch was hit by another teenager, one of his friends, according to reports. The accident was the result of "horseplay" between the friends, according to Wickliffe Police.

The driver was identified as Gary Reba, 18. The two friends went to the bowling alley together. Reba and another teenager left Wickliffe Lanes before Noch and decided to pull a prank. They planned to move the car they had come in together to a different parking spot. That way, Noch would come outside and think the car was missing.

As Noch began looking for the vehicle, Reba moved the car to startle his friend. However, Noch was clipped by the driver's side corner of the car, fell and slammed his head on the ground. Noch suffered a serious head injury, police said.

Despite the best efforts of the medical teams at Lake West Hospital and University Hospitals, Noch died in the early morning on March 3.

Reba has been arrested and charged with reckless operation of a motor vehicle and aggravated vehicular homicide. Police said there is no evidence that alcohol or drugs were involved in this incident.

"We ask that you keep Anthony Noch and his family in your thoughts and prayers. This was a senseless incident that has devastated two families; please be respectful in any comments," the Wickliffe Police Department said on social media.
