Tim Conway, Ohio Native, Star In 'Carol Burnett Show,' Dead At 85
Originally from Willoughby, Conway rose to fame through his work on "The Carol Burnett Show" in the 1960s and 1970s.

Willoughby-native Tim Conway, one of the stars of "The Carol Burnett Show," has passed away. He was 85.
A writer, actor and comedian, Conway created several memorable characters for the sketch-based "Carol Burnett Show." He also briefly had his own show, called "The Tim Conway Show," in the 1970s.
Conway won four Emmy Awards during his tenure with "The Carol Burnett Show." He was recognized for his writing and his performances on the show. Two of his most enduring characters from the show are the Oldest Man and Mr. Tudball.

Before rising to Hollywood fame, Conway was a Chagrin Falls High and Bowling Green State University graduate. According to Phi Delta Theta, Conway's fraternity, Conway was a disc jockey at Bowling Green and displayed his budding sense of humor over the collegiate airwaves.
After graduating college, Conway got a job writing for a Cleveland TV station and eventually headed westward, finding success in Hollywood.

According to People, Conway is survived by his wife of 35 years, his stepdaughter, his six biological children, and two granddaughters. His family has asked that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Cleveland Clinic's Lou Ruvo Brain Center in Las Vegas.
Conway suffered complications from Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus (NPH), according to People.
