Award-Winning Chef Opens Shaker Heights Restaurant
Jonathon Sawyer, who helms the Greenhouse Tavern, has opened a restaurant in the Van Aken District.

SHAKER HEIGHTS, OH — Award-winning chef Jonathon Sawyer has opened a new restaurant in the Van Aken District in Shaker Heights. Called Sawyer's, the eatery is on Tuttle Road and will serve distinctive modern American fare.
Sawyer has won the James Beard Foundation award for outstanding cooking. His new restaurant will be centered around wood-fired cooking as well as the Chapa, a versatile live fire cooking tool commonly used in Argentina's Patagonia and Italy's Abruzzo regions.
Cleveland-native Sawyer is known for The Greenhouse Tavern restaurant on E. 4th. According to a press release, Sawyer's will now be the flagship restaurant for the chef.

Sawyer's will be open Wednesday and Thursday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. The interior of the restaurant features mid-century and contemporary design, live greenery and plants, and sliding windows opening onto a patio.
Guests can also sidle up to a 10-seat bar or be seated in an elevated seating area in the center of the restaurant. The elevated area will offer views into the open kitchen.
