Carjacking In Shaker Heights Ends With Car Crash In Cleveland
Two men stole a 69-year-old man's car and then crashed into a building in Woodland.

SHAKER HEIGHTS, OH — Two armed men stole a car from a 69-year-old Shaker Heights resident and then crashed the car into a building on Woodland Avenue on Wednesday morning. Both suspects are now in police custody, according to a Shaker Heights police spokesperson.
The carjacking happened on Kendall Road at 6:45 .m. on Wednesday, Commander John Cole of Shaker Heights police said. The 69-year-old saw two men going through his car and confronted them. One of the men pulled out a handgun and pushed the resident. The suspects then ran into the resident's home, grabbed his car keys and stole the car.
Shaker Heights police found the resident's stolen car at 7:40 a.m. in Cleveland. The car was being drive by two men. After several minutes of following the car, the suspects crashed into a building on Woodland Avenue.

One of the suspects ran into a gated yard and the other stayed in the car. Both men were taken into custody and then taken to a hospital.
The 69-year-old was examined by Shaker's Emergency Medical Services, Cole said.
