Christmas In Shaker Heights: What's Open, Closed, Trash Schedule
The holidays will impact refuse collection and will shut down several community buildings for the day.
SHAKER HEIGHTS, OH — With Christmas and New Year's Day both landing on Tuesdays, Shaker residents can expect a slight delay in their trash collection. Municipal buildings and facilities will be closed for the holidays.
All city offices, including fire and police administrative offices, will be closed on Christmas Day. Emergency services will still function like normal. All city offices will also be closed on New Year's Day.
Trash collection will be delayed one day. Residents who normally see their refuse picked-up on Tuesday-Friday will have a one-day delay.

Shaker Heights Public Library will be closed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. The Shaker Heights Schools will be on recess through New Year's Day. Classes resume Jan. 7, 2019.
