Coronavirus In Shaker Heights: ZIP Code Updates

SHAKER HEIGHTS, OH — There have been nearly 2,600 COVID-19 cases associated with a Shaker Heights ZIP code, according to the Ohio Department of Health.

The 44118 ZIP code in Shaker Heights has had 2,595 COVID-19 cases among residents since the pandemic began. A second ZIP code connected to the city, 44122, has had 2,352 cases among residents; and a third ZIP, 44120, code has had 1,906 cases.

Over the past week, there has been a drop in new COVID-19 cases in Ohio. The state has confirmed fewer than 4,000 new cases for four straight days and hospitalizations related to the virus have dipped below 3,000.

In response to the decline, Gov. Mike DeWine has shortened the statewide curfew to 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. and has laid out guidelines for removing the curfew altogether.

More than 7.5 percent of Ohioans have received at least the first part of the COVID-19 vaccine, according to the state health department. As of Wednesday afternoon, 908,096 Ohioans had received at least the first shot and 217,058 Ohioans have completed the vaccination process.
