Free Online Concert For Shaker Residents On August 1
Mariama Whyte will perform Broadway classics while interacting with fans online.
SHAKER HEIGHTS, OH — Mariama Whyte will sing Broadway classics during a special concert for Shaker Heights residents.
The concert will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Aug. 1 via Zoom. Whyte will interact with the online audience during the concert. The performance is free and open to the public, though advance registration is required.
Whyte has been feature in a bevy of well-received projects, including "Dance Nation" ad Dobama Theatre and "Simply Simone: The Music of Nina Simone" at Karamu House. She has played leading roles in national tours of Disney's "The Lion King" and "The Color Purple."

Whyte has also performed on the Oprah Winfrey Show and has shared the stage with David Foster. She has released several music projects and is completing her first full-length album.
The concert is part of the Shaker Arts Council's Stay-in-Place Productions program.

NOPEC is supporting this concert via grant, the council said.
