Gas Main Projects Will Disrupt Shaker Heights Traffic
Work on Fairmount Boulevard and in the Boulevard Neighborhood will close lanes and cause delays.

SHAKER HEIGHTS, OH — Two major gas main replacement projects will start in the next seven days and drivers should expect delays to their commutes.
Dominion Energy is overseeing a major gas main replacement on Fairmount Boulevard, between Warrensville Center and Courtland Oval. Work will begin Thursday, Feb. 14, and should continue for one month, weather permitting.
The ensuing construction will lead to lane closures and shifts, the city said. However, at least one lane of traffic, in each direction, will be maintained on Fairmount throughout the project. Drivers should still expect delays and are encouraged to find alternate routes.

The second major gas main replacement will start the week of February 18. Dominion Energy is again overseeing the project, which affects the Boulevard neighborhood, specifically between Shaker and Larchmere boulevards; and West Boulevard to the Shaker Heights city limit. Impacted roads will include Endicott, Wicklow, Leighton, and Southington.

Again, there will be lane closures and shifts during the duration of the project, but the city hopes to keep one lane of traffic, in each direction, throughout the construction. Drivers should try to find alternate routes through the neighborhood.
