Larchmere Deli Robbed By Armed Suspect

Police said the man "presented" a firearm and demanded cash and merchandise from the store.

SHAKER HEIGHTS, OH — Larchmere Deli & Beverage was robbed by an armed man this week, Shaker Heights Police announced. The public is being asked to help identify and locate the suspect.

The robbery happened Tuesday night. The man came into the store and began threatening the employees, according to police. He presented his gun and demanded money and merchandise. The employees handed over what he wanted.

The man left the store on foot, without hurting anyone. Police rushed to the scene and did a sweeping canvass of the area. Shaker Heights Police Commander John Cole said officers worked with Cleveland Police and searched all the way to Martin Luther King Drive and Fairhill Road for the man, to no avail.

The suspect is a heavyset African American man, according to police. He appears to be in his 30s. Photographs of the suspect, capture on the store's surveillance cameras, have been released to the public.
