SHAKER HEIGHTS, OH — Two masked people robbed a 50-year-old man at gunpoint in the parking lot of a Shaker Heights church on Tuesday.
The robbery happened at 3:40 p.m. at a church in the 17000 block of Winslow Road. The 50-year-old was with his 10-year-old son. The pair were walking through the parking lot when two masked men, with a gun, confronted them, Shaker Heights police said.
The robbers pushed the gun into the 50-year-old's side. He handed over cash and other items and the two masked men took off running, Shaker Heights police told Patch. Neither the 50-year-old or his son were hurt.

That same day, at 7 p.m., a South Euclid woman was nearly robbed by two masked men, police said. They pointed a gun at her while she was getting out of her car in the parking lot near a Norwood Road church.
The masked men tried to steal the woman's car, while she was in it, but thought better of it and took off running.
The woman was not hurt in the robbery attempt, police said.
The suspects shared a similar description to those in the Winslow Road robbery.
"Although there are similarities in the number of suspects and means used to accomplish these crimes, no identifications have been made yet. However, we believe we have good suspect descriptions and excellent witness accounts. We also have increased patrols in this area as well as alerted other adjacent jurisdictions who have experienced same and/or similar crimes," a Shaker Heights police spokesperson told Patch in an email.
