Memorial Day 2018: What's Open, Closed In Shaker Heights
Thornton Park Pool will open over the weekend. And the city will host its annual Memorial Day ceremony.
SHAKER HEIGHTS, OH — As Northeast Ohio and the nation gets ready to honor its veterans on Memorial Day, Patch wanted to remind readers that the holiday will lead to the closures of some city facilities.
The city's annual Memorial Day ceremony will be held at City Hall at 9 a.m. Immediately following the ceremony, the parade will begin. The parade will move east to Thornton Park along Van Aken Boulevard. The Shaker Heights High School Marching Band will take part in the march.
Speaking of Thornton Park, the pool will open May 26. The full pool schedule can be found on the city's website.

Additionally, because of the holiday, trash collection will be delayed by one day.Monday through Friday trash collection will be delayed by one day. That means, Monday collection will be on Tuesday.
