Part Of S. Woodland Closed For Gas Main Replacement

The eastbound lane of South Woodland will be partially closed on Wednesday and Thursday, Shaker Heights announced.

SHAKER HEIGHTS, OH — Part of South Woodland Road will be closed for construction on Wednesday and Thursday, the city of Shaker Heights announced.

The eastbound lane of South Woodland will be closed at South Park Boulevard from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on both July 24 and July 25. Eastbound traffic will be detoured to Shaker Boulevard, then to Lee Road, and then back to South Woodland.

Dominion Energy will be installing a new gas main under South Woodland, prompting the closure, the city said. The westbound lane of South Woodland will remain open on Wednesday and Thursday.

This is the second part of a major gas main replacement project on South Woodland. Dominion already started work on the road between Lee Road and Van Aken Boulevard in early July. The city estimated at the start of the project that construction should last about three months, weather permitting.
