Power Outages In Shaker Heights, City Opens Rec Center To Public
With dangerously cold temperatures freezing the area, residents without power are invited to the Stephanie Tubbs Community Building.

SHAKER HEIGHTS, OH — With up to 40 homes without power in Shaker Heights on Thursday, the city is inviting impacted residents to come to the Stephanie Tubbs Community Building, 3450 Lee Rd. FirstEnergy said power should be restored by Thursday afternoon.
Temperatures are currently in the low-teens, according to the National Weather Service. By tonight, with wind chill, temperatures could be as low as -1 degree.
With things getting that chilly, going without power can be dangerous. Residents who are currently without power are being encouraged to go to the Tubbs building to warm-up. The city is even calling the facility a "warming up" center.
