Shaker Heights Man Indicted For Robbing Bank

The 20-year-old Shaker Heights resident is one of two people accused of robbing a Richmond Heights bank last year.

SHAKER HEIGHTS, OH — A Shaker Heights man has been indicted for robbing a bank in Richmond Heights, the Department of Justice announced Thursday.

I'ziah Clark, 20, from Shaker Heights, and Joseph Kyle Sanders, 19, from Cleveland, were both indicted in federal court on one count of armed bank robbery and one count of using a firearm during a crime of violence. Both men were investigated by the FBI and the Richmond Heights Police Department.

Clark and Sanders are accused of using a gun while robbing Citizens Bank on Richmond Road on June 1, 2018. The FBI originally said the suspects in the robbery threatened to hurt employees at the bank.

Investigators also told the media the suspects in the robbery demanded money be put into a bag, which they carried out of the bank.

Clark and Sanders are being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Scott Zarzycki.
