Shaker Heights School Gets New Principal

SHAKER HEIGHTS, OH — Tiffany Joseph will be the next principal of Woodbury Elementary School. She will take over the role on July 1.

The Shaker Heights Schools parsed through a pool of approximately 60 candidates for the principal position. The district then held interviews with stakeholders, staff, held a community survey and a community virtual town hall. Through the process, Joseph emerged as the top candidate.

“Ms. Joseph brings a strong track record of educational leadership and the ability to forge relationships with students, staff and parents,” said Superintendent David Glasner. “In a short time in Shaker, she has made many positive contributions. We firmly believe that she is well-prepared for this new challenge.”

Joseph has been an assistant principal at Shaker Heights High since August 2019. She is also the special coordinator on the district's coronavirus response task force.

Before coming to Shaker Heights, Joseph was the principal of the Early College Academy at Crenshaw Middle School in Canton. She held several administrative roles at Canton City Schools, including summer school principal, small school principal and principal mentor. She began her career in the Cleveland Metropolitan School District as an intervention specialist and assistant principal.

“I am very grateful to have been given the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of our fifth- and sixth-grade students at Woodbury and to work with the wonderful faculty and staff who are there, as well as a highly engaged, caring parent community,” Joseph said. “Working together, we will accomplish great things.”

Joseph will succeed H. Danny Young, who is becoming a school counselor at Shaker Heights High School, the district announced.
