The Cleveland suburb is part of the background of "Little Fires Everywhere," Celeste Ng's tale of motherhood and identity.

SHAKER HEIGHTS, OH — Shaker Heights is the setting of 2018's most popular e-book, and second most popular audio book — "Little Fires Everywhere." Written by Celeste Ng in 2017, the novel continues to be extremely popular nationwide.
The data on e-book and audio book readership comes from OverDrive, the digital reading platform of choice for America's libraries. The company said it based its rankings of popular digital books on data from 90 percent of libraries.
"Little Fires Everywhere" tells the story of two families with different socio-economic backgrounds that end up coming together through their children. Actress Reese Witherspoon called it a tale of "motherhood." Witherspoon has led the charge on getting a mini-series of "Little Fires Everywhere" produced.
