Shaker Heights Teachers Welcome New Superintendent

The Teachers Association and the Board of Education issued a joint statement celebrating Glasner's hiring.

SHAKER HEIGHTS, OH — The Shaker Heights Teachers Association and the Board of Education are both applauding the selection of David Glasner as the next superintendent of the Shaker Heights Schools.

Glasner will begin work on July 1. He is currently serving as the interim principal of Shaker Heights High School and the Executive Director of Curriculum and Instruction for the school district. In his current role, Glasner has been responsible for the implementation of district curriculum and instructional practices.

Shaker Heights teachers clapped Glasner into school after he was announced as the new superintendent last week.

In a joint statement released on Friday, representatives from the Shaker Heights Teachers Association and the Shaker Heights Board of Education celebrated Glasner's selection.

“We welcome Dr. David Glasner as the next Superintendent of the Shaker Heights City Schools. His selection signals the desire for a new level of collaboration and cooperation between the District and the faculty. As Interim Principal at the High School, Dr. Glasner made repairing and cultivating the relationship between administration and teachers a top priority. We are pleased that Dr. Glasner will have the opportunity to continue this important work on a broader scale throughout the District. Educators want what children need: a high-quality education provided in a safe and nurturing learning environment. Dr. Glasner shares that belief.
