SHAKER HEIGHTS, OH — A Shaker Heights woman was killed in a shooting at a Cleveland gas station on Tuesday.

On Wednesday morning, the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's office announced that Karen Hunter, 48, of Shaker Heights, was killed on Tuesday. Her death is being investigated as a suspected homicide.

According to Cleveland police, there was a shooting at a Sunoco Gas Station on E. 131st St. on early Tuesday. When police arrived, they found Hunter with a gunshot wound to her chest. EMS gave the woman first aid but then declared her dead.

Investigators believe Hunter and two other people were arguing in the parking lot when two unidentified men approached them, pulled out guns and began shooting.

Police said a second person, a 26-year-old woman, was also hurt during the shooting. She was shot in the arm and in the back, according to a police spokesperson.

Members of the Cleveland police homicide unit are investigating the shooting. No suspects have been identified and no arrests have been made.
