Shaker Landmark Commission Hosts Preservation Month Photo Contest
Submit photos of your favorite Shaker Heights' spots.

The Shaker Heights Landmark Commission invites residents to capture favorites about Shaker Heights in the first annual Preservation Month Photo Contest.
The contest was created in honor of National Preservation Month, which is celebrated each May by preservation organizations across the country, according to a media release.
The Landmark Commission formally recognizes the City’s historic place through the designation of landmarks and the annual Preservation Awards program. Celebrate your favorite historical places in Shaker. Submit your photos in the following categories before May 26:

- Buildings
- Architectural elements (front doors, chimneys, brickwork, trim details, etc.)
- Street scenes
- Landscape/nature
Entries will be judged by the Landmark Commission with a Grand Prize winner and category winners announced on June 3.
Winners will be recognized in a future issue of Shaker Life magazine, on the city’s website and Facebook. The contest is open to residents and non-residents.

Submit photos to ann.klavora@shakeronline.com before May 26. Entries must include photographer name, email and phone number, title of photo and location of photo (street name).Â
Image must be submitted as a high quality .jpeg file, 640 x 480 pixels minimum size, and may be color or black and white. All photos must be original work. Multiple entries should be submitted in separate emails.
All submissions become property of the City and may be used by the City with recognition of the photographer.
