Shaker Man Killed During Birthday Party Shooting In Cleveland

A Shaker Heights man was killed when a shooting broke out at a party in Cleveland.

SHAKER HEIGHTS, OH — Two people — including a Shaker Heights man — were killed during a shooting at a birthday party in Cleveland on Saturday.

At 4:50 a.m., police were sent to a home on Grandview Avenue. Callers said gunshots had been heard at the house and a person appeared to be hurt.

Dshawn Wilcox, 34, was found outside a home on Grandview Avenue on early Saturday, Cleveland police announced. He had been shot multiple times. Police and EMS gave him first aid, but he was pronounced dead at 4:50 a.m.

Wilcox was identified by the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's office on Monday morning.

Police searched the house and found a 38-year-old man who had been shot multiple times. He was rushed to University Hospitals by EMS, but doctors later pronounced him dead.

Investigators later learned that a third person had been shot at the scene but had been driven to the Cleveland Clinic. He was transferred to University Hospitals, where he is still confined.

Police believe there was a birthday part at the Grandview house. Approximately 30 to 50 people were at the party.

Two guns were found at or near the home.
