Shaker Photo Contest Announces Winners
This year's Preservation Month photo competition got 59 entries from 25 photographers.

SHAKER HEIGHTS, OH — Five photographers have been named winners in the annual Preservation Month photo contest. The grand prize winner is Dina Hoeynck for her picture, "Annual Lomond 4th of July Bike Parade." The other winners were named runners-up.
The contest is run each year by the Shaker Heights Landmark Commission. This year's contest saw 59 entries, from 25 photographers. This year's contest was held on Instagram.
“The winners of this year’s contest have captured a visually arresting quality of Shaker-- its architecture, neighborhoods, gardens--which reveals the essence of what connects our history to our present. The Landmark Commission takes great pleasure in sharing these photographs with our community,” said Councilwoman Nancy Moore, chair of the Landmark Commission.

Submissions were meant to show what makes Shaker..."Shaker." Entries ranged from specific architectural details, to landmark buildings, to city scenes.

Grand Prize: Annual Lomond 4th of July Bike Parade by Dina Hoeynck
People’s Choice: Shaker Reads by Grace Mawhorter
Runner-Up: Loganberry Books by Fehmida Kapadia
Runner-Up: Woodbury Bell Tower by Laura Hasselman
Runner- Up: Horseshoe Lake by Caydie Heller
Runner-Up: Shaker in Bloom by Raleigh Elizabeth
Winning photographs will be printed in the Fall issue of Shaker Life magazine.
