Shaker League of Women Voters observer report for March 16 School Board Meeting

The Shaker League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan organization. Members attend City, School and Library meetings and write observer reports. Here are the highlights of the Shaker Heights School Board’s March 16th meeting.
• Approved leasing space in the Shaker Library for the Registrar and Family and Community Engagement operations.
• Approved appointment of Bruce Rogen to Shaker Heights Public Library Board of Trustees.

• Passed a waiver of third-grade reading guarantee during the 2020-21 school year.

• Starting with incoming 9th graders (Class of ‘25), SHHS will eliminate the option to opt out of in-person PE and shift from 1.0 (4 semesters) required credit to .5 (2 semesters) required credit.
