Shinola To Open Store In Van Aken District

The luxury brand crafts its goods, including timepieces, leather goods, jewelry and audio items.

SHAKER HEIGHTS, OH - Shinola is opening a new store in the Van Aken District in Shaker Heights on June 6.

The luxury brand is known for its long-lasting pieces, including leather goods, jewelry, watches and audio. The company is based out of Detroit and opened its first Ohio store in 2017.

The Van Aken location will be 1,538 square-feet. The store will offer the brand's full lineup of goods, as well as the new Willard Watch Bar, which allows customers to custom create a watch.

The Willard Watch Bar is named for Willard Bixby, one of the founders of the shoe polish brand that passed its name to Shinola. The Bar will let customers build their watch, in-store, and ensure it's tailored specifically to their style.

The Shaker Heights store will also feature Shinola's signature complimentary monogramming station, where customers can have journals or leather goods embossed with their initials or name. Customers can also have their jewelry sent to Detroit to be engraved with a custom message or initials.

Shinola's first Ohio store opened in Columbus' Easton Town Center in 2017. The Shaker Heights location will be Shinola's 27th brick-and-mortar retail location in the U.S. and 29th worldwide. Shinola has stores in New York, Los Angeles, London and other major metro areas.
