Upcoming Virtual Arts Programs For Kids In Shaker Heights

Virtual classes and free webinars will highlight the Shaker Arts Council's winter and early spring offerings.

SHAKER HEIGHTS, OH — A series of community virtual art classes and webinars will be offered to Shaker Heights residents.

The community art classes are specifically geared to K-12 students and will coincide with winter breaks. Sessions will run Monday through Wednesday, Dec. 21 to Dec. 23 and Dec. 28 to Dec. 30.

A second mini-session for youths will be offered Feb. 15 and Feb. 16. General classes for students of every age will be offered after school and on weekends during the 2021 winter and spring sessions.

Classes will cover many genres, including art with code, drawing, comic art, flamenco dance, mixed media and theater arts. All classes will be offered "within an affordable price range."

There will also be five free webinars: one featuring a Zentangle demonstration, a webinar on meditation, an introduction to voiceover, a how-to on creating paper mandalas, and an interactive presentation by Little Nosh Productions culminating in homemade Russian tea biscuits.

The youth art classes are part of the Shaker Arts Council's Stay-in-Place Productions, the program's response to COVID-19.
