Utility Box Design Contest Launches In Shaker Heights
Artists are called to design utility boxes near the Shaker Heights rapid line.

SHAKER HEIGHTS, OH — Shaker Arts Council (SHAC) is launching a new juried art contest to further beautify the city.
Artists will compete to create the best design on utility boxes throughout Shaker Heights, SHAC announced. The project is being done in collaboration with the Regional Transit Authority (RTA).
Utility boxes near the Shaker Heights rapid tracks will serve as canvases for the contest.

The contest is open to artists 21 and older who live or work in Shaker Heights or live in the Shaker Heights School district.
Designs and applications must be submitted by 5 p.m. on April 30.

Applications are available to download online.
SHAC has sponsored similar contests designing utility boxes throughout the city. Previous programs include Painting the Town and Building Blocks.
